Interview with judge - Monika Mircheva

• What inspired you to become a professional in the manicure and pedicure world?

- This answer is easy for me. My sister! Lina Valerieva was the person who got me into this profession. Back when there was no internet everywhere, she used me as a model in most of her trainings, and in some seminars just for company.I could see her passion and the precision with which she worked, and she was inevitably able to pass that on to me. After a while, pedicure completely won my heart and my attention was completely directed in this direction.

• What is the biggest challenge you have faced in your professional journey?

- There is a huge difference between being a professional pedicurist and being a professional teacher. For me, the biggest challenge to this day is to be able to feel each person, to understand what drives them and how they think, so that I can help them more easily absorb the knowledge that I pass on to them.

• What satisfies you most about your job?

- Of course the smile of a satisfied customer, but the feeling I feel when I find a solution to a problem and when I apply it, to see the dynamics of my work, is incredible. As well as when I see someone I have trained developing in the right direction!

• What advice would you give to young professionals who want to succeed in this field?

- My advice is to do everything willingly, believe in yourself, train and work with professional products, be interested in them and understand their way of action. However, they are not satisfied with one technique of work. There is more than one way to do a manicure and pedicure. But above all, my advice is to be responsible for people's health and not experiment with it.

• What are the manicure/pedicure trends you've come across lately?

- Unfortunately, what I encounter more and more often are problems caused by colleagues who approach their clients too boldly, perhaps from overdoing it or not having enough experience or knowledge.

From a pedicurist's point of view, what I'm noticing is that nail designs are getting simpler, colors are more neutral, people are looking for a more natural look.

Mission

"Annual awards EMILY" is a dream come true! A competition that shows the best of the best professional manicurists and pedicurists. The format is implemented on an online platform where participants voluntarily create their own profile and photo gallery in order to promote their professional practice and attract new clients.

In this platform, every manicurist and pedicurist can show their best manicure and pedicure designs and models that they have personally made in their professional practice.
